About Me

Mecca

Background

My name is Mecca Adams, I’m a TV Producer Director for Cox Media Advertising. For 19 years I’ve been producing eye catching television and advertising content, connecting brands and their audience.

Over the years technology has changed the way we view our content. Video tapes are gone, CD’s are pretty much on the way out the door. Devices enable us to view content differently. As technology changes at the speed of light my Production skills has extended in to graphic design. Web browsers, social media platforms and multi screen platforms is high demand.

TCC’s Visual Arts program https://www.tcc.edu/academics/arts-humanities/visual-arts-center helped me develop an eye for web development or web design. TCC https://www.tcc.edu/  helped me develop an eye for Graphic Design.

I would describe my self as strongly seasoned and a hardworking Graphic Designer with extraordinary creative thinking and project design abilities. My TV Production background adapted me to a fast pace environment and multitasker with the ability to bring graphic design projects to completion with complete efficiency and accuracy. I’m able to work well independently or as a member of a professional graphic design team.

Goals

My goal is combine my graphic art skills and TV production expertise to create diverse visual media such as digital publishing, publication design, and mobile applications.

I would like to work in the government sector such as the department of defense https://www.defense.gov/ or design exhibits for the Smithsonian Institute https://www.si.edu/ as an Information Specialist Designer. It would be a dream come true to work in a for a museum and creatively tell history through interactive exhibitions.

Designers I admire

Terry White is a Principal Worldwide Design & Photographer Evangelist for Adobe Systems, Inc. I love everything from his tutorials to his photography.  http://terrywhite.com/about/

Mohamed Achraf is a freelance Graphic Designer and expert in Adobe Illustrator. He specializes in logo design. His YouTube channel shares everything he knows. You will enjoy his tutorials as you hear sound effects of birds in the background. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF6WjcZeVqy3MLBpp86eOyw/videos

Meet someday.

Myriad typeface is my favorite typeface. Before I knew what Typography meant I Myriad was my “go to” typeface for everything. It’s for clean, neat graphic typeface was great for TV Broadcasting. When I learned Myriad was designed by a female, I loved it even more. This sans-serif typeface designed by Robert Slimbach and Carol Twombly for Adobe Systems was intended as a neutral, general-purpose typeface that could fulfill a range of uses and have a form easily expandable by computer-aided design to a large range of weights and widths. I would like to meet Carol Twombly someday and thank her for creating Myriad typeface.
